seeMore Designer

Written in Java the seeMore Designer is platform in dependant and provides DBA's and IT staff with a simple and powerful user interface that is used for managing and controlling enterprise-wide Meta information for either the seeMore Standard or Virtual database servers.

The Designer allows DBA's to quickly setup Data Sources to be accessed by the seeMore servers and the importing of their catalogues. Once imported the Designer allows tables, views and columns to be assigned aliases (synonyms) and descriptions to improve their usability by third party applications such as Report writers and Business Intelligence tools.

This user-friendly interface features context-sensitive online help screens and enables you to:

• Create and maintain Data Sources;
• Create and maintain Access Lists to provide enhanced data security;
• Create and maintain Users and their permissions;
• Create and maintain seeMore dictionaries for virtual databases;
• Quickly import existing tables, views and stored procedures from configured Data Sources;
• Create new tables, indexes, views and SQLJ stored procedrues;
• Create complex tables such as COBOL that contain multiple definitions and arrays;
• Create relationships between tables and views;
• Create Synonyms for tables, columns, views and store procedures;
• Create Descriptions for tables, columns, views and store procedures;
• Create table partitions allowing virtual tables to contain data from many data sources;
• Create table mappings to disimilar schemas.

Once your data sources and their meta information is configured in seeMore, it is available for transparent access by user applications such as Report Writers, Business Intelligence Tools and Application Servers.

The Designer also enables your personnel to direct the key functions of seeMore, such as security and access controls, replication, and other core functions. When fast-moving situations necessitate changes in data mapping, user access, or other changes, it's a simple task to make these changes with Designer, saving IT staff the time and effort it would take to manually integrate the data.
